| Appearance | Boston Terrier dogs have distinctive White on Black or Brindle markings from birth. At maturity they are between 11 to 17 inches (from shoulder) in height. Lightweight is under 15 pounds, middleweight 15 to 20 pounds and heavyweight 20 to 25 pounds. Perky ears and very large dark and expressive eyes. Short snouts. The white blaze between eyes and band around the neck and chest is snow white making them one of the identifiable types of dogs. Their screw tail (or straight) is naturally short. |
| Grooming | The Boston Terrier breed is one of the easy to maintain small dog breeds. These types of dogs just need weekly brushing. Wipe folds around eye area more often. Low shedding which would suit some hyper allergenic people. The very low maintenance of these types of dogs can be important consideration when choosing a dog. These little pets only need bathing when required. |
| Health | These types of dogs are prone to respiratory problems, thyroid disease, deafness and skin problems. Some eye diseases are common in the Boston Terrier breed. They are also prone to bloating. |
