| Health | This Brachycephalic dog breed have the usual problems associated with snub nosed dogs such as breathing difficulties and sensitivity to anesthesia. In additional patellar luxation and mitral valve insufficiency is prevalent. These types of dogs have a relatively short life span of just 12 years. |

These little tots were bred exclusively as human companions and in Ancient Japan were sometimes kept in hanging birdcages. Nowadays this would be considered extreme cruelty.
