Miniature Schnauzer Dog - All in One Dog.
The Miniature Schnauzer dog, makes an excellent household pet for the entire family, yet these small dog breeds also make an excellent guard dog as they are wary of strangers. These small companion dogs are not particularly noisy, but do bark when they are very happy or very unhappy!

| History | Established in 1907 as a AKC breed, originally bred as a ratter in (Southern) Germany in 1800. Served with distinction in the 2 World Wars as security dogs. | Personality | Very alert with high intelligence. This is a reliable personality with good trainability. | | Appearance | The miniature Schnauzer breed has a trademark beard, bushy eyebrows and a should have a characteristic groomed coat. Naturally short tail which can be docked (where it is permitted). Wiry coat is clipped to a soft and low shedding undercoat. | | Grooming | Regular brushing and 3 times a year professional trimming to reveal a soft undercoat. The Miniature Schnauzer dog needs a bit of care to keep it looking gorgeous. | | Health | These are healthy types of dogs but is susceptible to pancreatitis (a low fat diet is essential) eye problems and some skin allergies. Diabetes is possible in later years, weight gain must be controlled. | Family | Very good family pet and is suitable for families with children. However, all small dog breeds, need to be protected from boisterous young children. He does not like other small family pets unless socialized early. | | Training | The miniature Schnauzer dog is quick to train as it is intelligent, but they can challenge a weak pack leader. | | Ideal Home | These small companion dogs are suitable for apartment living provided it does have a regular daily walk.
