Toy Fox Terrier
A Toy with a Purpose

The Toy Fox Terrier is an American rare dog breed more commonly known as the American Toy Terrier AKA AmerToy.

This is an energetic, comical and intelligent companion and is one of the ideal toy dog breeds for families. These small dog breeds are not suitable for the elderly or infirm as they need high energy exercise.

Small Dog Breeds

  • Weight - 3.5 - 4 lbs (1.5 to 3.5 kgs)
  • Height - Not more than 10 inches (25 cm)
  • Color - (preferred) Tri - white black with tan. Black and white or Black and tan.  Predominantly dark head, predominantly white body.
  • Coat - Short, shiny and smooth.
  • Maintenance - Occasional brushing and nail clipping.
  • Family - Loves playing and exercise, very entertaining pet.
  • Life expectancy - 14 - 15 years
  • Personality - Lively and athlelic. The AmerToy is not ideal for apartment living unless he gets daily exercise.

The American Toy Terrier is not aggressive and will bond with the entire family and other pets. This rare dog breed stands less than one foot high, and makes a perfect armful for those who like to travel.

These breeds of dogs are essentially free from many dog health problems associated with small dog breeds. Other than neurotic behavior, if unmotivated by regular attention and exercise, these small dog breeds are relatively disease free and if well cared for will exceed their live expectancy of 14 to 15 years.

As with all tiny dog breeds, lack of exercise and human snacks will easily and quickly result in an overweight dog. Care should be taken not to overfeed this little bundle.

Loving Care

Our little pets rely on us for their every need.
They cannot feed themselves as we have bred them to be our companions which they do admirably.  We need to care for them as we would a defenceless baby.
Dog Grooming as well as when they are older
Caring for an older dog
are part and parcel of responsible pet ownership.
